Moong Dal Uttapam – Very Healthy and Easy Snack

Moongdal  is low in calories and is a high source of protein, fiber and antioxidant. So we must have to add this fiber and protein rich food into our everyday diet.

Today we are going to make a very healthy , easy, and protein rich dish , it’s a Moongdal Uttapam. Its very simple to make , required very less ingredients. Some times you don’t want to full meal but want to eat something which helps to feel your stomach as well as full of vitamins and protein, then this recipe is perfect for you.

So lets get started.


  • 2 Cup moong dal split.
  • Green chili
  • Salt
  • Chopped tomato
  • Chopped onion
  • Chopped capsicum
  • Oil
  • Red chili powder.


You know the best thing of this recipe? There is no any perfect measurement of any ingredients. You can add as per your choice and taste. Like if you like to have more tomato in your uttapam then you can add more, if you like to have your uttapam more spicy then you can add more green chili and red chili powder.

First of all soak moong dal for 4-5 hours. Also you can soak moong dal 1 to 1.5 hour in hot water. Take out soaked dal into a mixture jar , add salt, green chili and grind it.

Now take out the moong dal paste in to a bowl, add some water stir it and make a smooth batter.

Now heat the nonstick tawa, add around 1 tsp oil, pour the batter and make a round shape.  Now put chopped tomato, onion and capsicum on the top of the uttapam, sprinkle some red chili powder and press gently using spatula.

Let it cook for few minutes, them flip it. Cook both side properly. That’s it your MoongDal Uttapam is ready.

Enjoy it in breakfast, lunch , dinner OR have it as evening snacks.  Enjoy with hot tea , tomato ketchup , OR Green chutney OR Dahi Chutney.
